Posted on March 17, 2016 by Neal Meeker

The QC Co-Lab will be regularly hosting a 3D printer Meetup! Anyone is welcome to attend. We would apprciate if you RSVP for this event at http://www.meetup.com/QC-Makers/events/229685319/ This meetup is all about 3D printing. — If you have an interest in 3D printing, this meetup is for you! This meetup will be fairly informal. I would like to see what kind of interest there is in the Quad Cities. If you have a 3D printer of your own and would like to show off some of things you have made, or show off your own printer, please bring it down.

We’re temporarily closed

Posted on July 22, 2015 by Keith Claussen

As of this week, the QC Co-Lab is closed temporarily during our transition to a new space. We’re working hard to ensure the downtime is kept to a minimum & want to stress this is not a permanent closure. There is a exciting announcement we hope to make very soon! But, in the mean time, please stop by the old space to sign the entryway wall. We sincerely appreciate and have nothing but gratitude for Mary Ann Hamilton, Hamilton Tech faculty, and staff for supporting the QC Co-Lab over the past five years. Because, without them, we wouldn’t be here

Fingerprint Scanner for Garage Door

Posted on July 14, 2015 by Bill Peterson

A while back I came across the fingerprint scanners on SparkFun, which had a link to a cool Instructables project. It incorporated AVR coding/flashing, soldering, and drilling holes in my garage, so it seemed like a fun thing to do. I wanted a version with more buttons and a cool lasercut panel, so I did my own build (which got featured on Instructables!). I won’t duplicate effort, but below are some pics from the project. Maybe something for the new space?
