So you want to be a member!
A membership to the QC Co-Lab is open to anyone that wants to make, hack, or create. If you’re interested in obtaining detailed information about being a member, feel free to contact members@qccolab.com, or stop on in on a Saturday during our weekly Open House.
If you decide that you do wish to join, you can pay your membership dues online or in person at the QC Co-Lab. The easiest way to become a member is to register online via our GroupSpaces site at http://groupspaces.com/QCCo-Lab/. You can also sign up for membership during any Open House or anytime you’re vising as a guest with another member. Be sure to stop by when a board member is present to pick up your lousy t-shirt, or opt to upgrade to one of our fantastic QC Co-Lab polos.
Meetings are at the QC Co-Lab facility at 1033 East 53rd Street in Davenport, Iowa, next to Hamilton Technical College. Please use the east door for entrance.
So I get a lousy T-Shirt for being a member. What else?
Aside from an awesome article of clothing you will wear with the utmost geek pride, QC Co-Lab members have 24-hour access to the facility and all of its community equipment, resources, and most importantly, a great group of makers with expertise all across the map.
Alright. Now what’s it cost me?
QC Co-Lab membership is $35 per month if you choose to pay month to month. We strongly encourage you to sign up for a recurring dues subscription via our online payment processors, Google Wallet and Dwolla. If you chose to sign up for a recurring dues subscription, you get a $5 discount on your dues ($30 per month), as well as help the treasurer stay mostly sane. You can also save an additional 10% ($324) by paying for a year in advance. More information about dues can be found at the Membership Dues page.
I would like to become/am a member, and so would my spouse/significant other. Do you offer a family plan?
Yes! Family plans are available with a subscription at $45 per month, or $486 per year. Please contact the treasurer by email: treasurer@qccolab.com to see about enrolling you in our family plan.
I’m a student, and can’t afford that amount per month. Do you have a discounted rate for students?
Absolutely. You can contact the treasurer by email: treasurer@qccolab.com to see if you qualify. Student members must be actively enrolled at a high school or continuing education institution, and must be willing to submit proof of enrollment. Our student rates are designed for starving college students that like their ramen with a little sawdust, solder, and software in it. All student memberships are evaluated at least once a year, and are at the sole discression of the treasurer for enrollment.
I’m not a student, but I can’t afford that amount per month. Do you have other discounted rates?
For makers that are potential or existing members, but can’t afford the standard rates, the treasurer is capable of making special exemptions from standard membership dues. You may contact our tresaurer to ask to be considered for an exemption by email: treasurer@qccolab.com.
